2004 - Randy Travis got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
1998 - Sara Evans' single, "No Place That Far," featuring Vince Gill was released.
1996 - Buck Owens, Norro Wilson, Jerry Chesnut and Kenny O'Dell joined the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
1993 - Vince Gill won five CMA Awards including CMA Entertainer of the Year. He also co-hosted the show.
1976 – Jerry Lee Lewis was charged with shooting a firearm within the city limits. He hit his bass player, Norman Owens, twice in the chest while attempting to shoot a soda bottle.
